Forward Deployed Engineer
San Francisco•In-person, six days a week•Full-time
$200,000 – $260,000+ 0.10% – 0.40% equity
Forward Deployed Engineers at Standard Works are the first technical face our customers see. You'll own onboarding for litigation teams, embed with them on active matters, and write code that makes the product fit their workflow — sometimes during the same call.
This is a customer-facing engineering role. Travel to customer offices is expected when matters demand it.
What you'll do
- •Own technical onboarding and ongoing success for a portfolio of customer firms
- •Build custom integrations, ingest pipelines, and matter-specific tooling on top of our platform
- •Run live working sessions with litigators and case teams; write code in the room when it helps
- •Funnel field signal back to product and engineering — the patterns you see become next quarter's features
What we're looking for
- •You move fast and can ship a working integration during a customer call
- •You use frontier models and modern AI tooling fluently — agents, codegen, whatever lets you move 10x faster
- •You can be dropped into an ambiguous problem at a customer site and own it end to end
- •You can write Python and TypeScript, or pick them up quickly
- •Excellent written and verbal communication — you can hold your own in a room with senior partners
Bonus points
- •JD or paralegal experience, or prior work at a law firm
- •Experience at Palantir, Ramp, or other strong FDE cultures
- •Familiarity with eDiscovery workflows (productions, privilege review, redactions)
Compensation
$200,000 – $260,000 + 0.10% – 0.40% equity. Plus health, dental, vision, and a fully-stocked office in San Francisco.
