Standard Works is rebuilding eDiscovery from scratch around frontier models. We work with litigation teams who need to read millions of documents on impossible timelines.
We're a small team in San Francisco shipping fast. There's enormous surface area to own. You'll work directly with the founders and ship to customers every week.
What you'll do
- •Own end-to-end features across the stack — UI, API, data, and AI infrastructure
- •Ship to production multiple times a week with minimal process
- •Design and build retrieval and indexing systems against datasets in the tens of millions of documents
- •Talk to customers, understand their workflows, and turn what you hear into product
What we're looking for
- •You move fast. You'd rather ship a rough version today and improve it tomorrow than perfect it for a month
- •You use frontier models and the latest AI tooling daily — Claude, Cursor, agents, whatever's newest. You can tell us which model is best for what
- •You can take a vague problem, scope it, and ship the whole thing without anyone managing you
- •You can write clean code in TypeScript / React and Python (or pick them up quickly if you haven't)
- •A track record of shipping — production systems at prior roles, side projects, open source, anything we can look at
Bonus points
- •Experience with retrieval, search, vector databases, or RAG systems
- •Worked at an early-stage startup before
- •Background in legal tech, eDiscovery, or document-heavy domains
Compensation
$200,000 – $280,000 + 0.25% – 0.75% equity. Plus health, dental, vision, and a fully-stocked office in San Francisco.
